The Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), established in 1967 under the Ministry of Education, serves as the national regulatory authority for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). BTEB develops curricula, grants affiliations to 13,000+ public/private institutes, conducts examinations, awards diplomas/certificates, and implements NTVQF/BNQF levels 1-6. As the quality assurance apex body, it accredits Registered Training Organizations (RTOs) and monitors competency-based training nationwide.

BTEB drives TVET reforms through Industry 4.0 curricula (mechatronics, automation), digital assessment platforms like tvetacademy.online, and RPL systems serving 1.2 million annual enrollees. It coordinates with DTE for polytechnic oversight while providing certification for SEIP/GIZ projects, targeting 25% youth TVET participation by 2025 amid Digital Bangladesh initiatives.

BTEB’s accreditation ensures BNQF compliance across 49 government polytechnics, 64 technical schools, and private vocational centres. Recent mandates include teacher assessor certification, occupational standards development, and integration with NSDA for skills validation, advancing SDG 4 equitable access and positioning Bangladesh’s workforce for global competitiveness.
