I’m pleased to share that I have recently developed a new course titled:
“Promoting Social Cohesion and Peaceful Coexistence in Fragile Contexts through TVET”
for ILO Bangladesh.
This course is designed to build the capacity of TVET trainers and center managers to implement inclusive, conflict-sensitive training programs that contribute to peace and social cohesion, especially in fragile contexts such as Cox’s Bazar.
Course Objectives:
-
Understand the dynamics of fragility and displacement
-
Explore the role of TVET in promoting peace and social inclusion
-
Learn practical strategies for delivering inclusive, culturally responsive skills training
-
Strengthen collaboration among TVET providers, host communities, and displaced populations
Contextual Relevance:
Cox’s Bazar, as a host to both local communities and displaced populations, presents unique challenges and opportunities. This course aims to transform TVET from a purely economic tool to a bridge for peaceful coexistence and resilience.
It’s an honor to contribute to ILO Bangladesh’s ongoing efforts to use skills development as a driver of inclusive and sustainable peace.
Looking forward to seeing this course in action and its impact on the ground.
